for the P-Pro on a cat rod, does color matter, and if so, what are the pros and cons of each? Catfish connection has green, red and yellow available.

Whatever color is good for you is fine. I run green just because it was easier to find. Yellow is a little easier to see at night. I would shy away from red just because I like to use a red headlamp and would find it difficult to see my line if it were red.

Last year was the first time I used yellow PP and I had one of my best years in terms of numbers and size. So no, I don't think it matters. Of course, I'm also fishing in chocolate milk down here.

step three- begin to scheme on how to get this past the wife

step four - realize the futility of step three, go with "maybe next time"

Abu Garcia does have a $15 mail in rebate right now on C3 & C4 reels over $74.95. Rebate is good through sometime in August.

The problem is, that particular model 7000I isn't designated as a C3 series reel.

There still is a $10 rebate on the 7000i. Got my rebate back about 2 weeks after sending it in too.

Catfish Connection, Click on Manufacturer's Rebates, then click on Abu-Garcia Rebates. I don't think you can print it off from there however.

I do have a hard copy of this rebate in my hands if anyone needs a color copy of it.
