Morneau is unproven! He has had one great year.

This line baffles me confused.gifconfused.gifconfused.gif

If someone is the MVP, how can they be unproven??? confused.gifconfused.gif

Considering both players play full seasons, Johan could only affect roughly 30 games. Justin gets 4 or 5 ABS per game, 150 games roughly. His ability to produce RBIs and HR far outweighs the pitcher who throws once every five days

This thread is based on a hypothetical question. Santana and Morneau will NOT command the same salary. Reality is you will get Santana , or you get Morneau plus quality for the same money. My biggest problem with a single $200 million contract is it puts all the eggs on one basket. If Santana even returns halfway to the world of mortal pitchers, the Twinks are in a jam that year(s). It is not outrageous to to worry about a sore elbow or shoulder that slows him down to a 12-15 win season. I can think of another phenom pitcher that is taking this year off. I was shocked when Liriano went down at such a young age.

All the more reason to leave Garza in the minors for most (or at least half) of this season. About 160-170 total innings for him this year, maybe 180-185 next year, and then he will be ready for full-time starting duty in 2009.

Otherwise, you run the risk of damaging their arm early. See...Liriano, Kerry Wood, Mark Prior, AJ Burnett, et cetera.

Sometime this season, Garza can come up and be the fifth starter, skipping his start regularly when the fifth starter is not needed. That would be about the right amount of workload...this year and next.

Though that still leaves a problem with Bonser pitching too many innings this year...

The good thing is that Garza and Bonser both have a normal delivery. When Liriano first started pitching last season, Analyst were commenting on his delivery and how much it torque it puts on your elbow. I second guess alot of moves the twins make, but for the most part they always seem to end up the right way. grin.gif Can't wait for Monday night. grin.gifcool.gifwink.gif

Second guessing is our right as fans. But you are correct. The Twins are one of the best run franchises in ANY sport.

The Twins probably can't afford Santana's next contract. Kind of brings back memories of someone named Viola in the same situation. Rode him as long as they could, then pulled off a trade that helped the team for longer than Viola stayed in the majors. Hard to have that kind of faith, but the Twins usually make sound decisions.

He won the MVP of which I was very excited and happy for him, but he won it for one great season. Based on the hypothetical question who do you want to sign Cytana or Morneau I go with Santana based on what he has done over the last few years.

Look at the last veiw MVPs. All of them had great years(careers) before they won it. Morneau and Howard came out of no where to win their league MVPs. I am just saying based on CYtana and MVPorneau - right now I take Santana because he has shown us for a few years he is the real deal!! grin.gifgrin.gifgrin.gif

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
