KYB shocks, are they good ?

I read many places they praise this brand, I am replacing the stock ones on my Ram diesel, many people like them better than Bilstein.

What's your opinion ?

They are a pretty decent shock. Most people do prefer them over a BIlstein because they buy a BIlstein cause they hear that they are the best. Bilsteins are good for offroad or extreme use. KYB's will have a softer dampening and ride better on the roads. They won't rebound as fast or soak up the huge bumps, but if you're thinking more road oriented then the KYB's are a great shock. I don't want you to think they are too road biased cause I know you live out in the boonies but if they are for your truck and its gonna get beat on a bit, the KYB's may not do a good enough job and they won't last as long either.

Also in the same price range is always the Rancho 9000's. They are 9-position adjustable and for more moeny you can buy a controller to adjust them in the cab.

Thank you Sir, the use you described is exactly what I need, I do travel 99.9% on dry roads (towing), the 2 miles of gravel to get to my house don't worry me too much.

I want to have a nice smooth ride, seems like I made a good decision.
