Lakers live alot longer than that. Especially in that cold water. It is probably more like a 100 year old fish.

All fish that big up there have to be realeased.

It was not me or my group just a photo from up there. If I get a chance I will post a few of mine. smile.gif

the oldest known lake trout was a reported 50 years old. 20-40 years is about the average life expectancy of lakers.

as an FYI, the World Record Lake Trout (angling): 66 lbs, 8 oz, from the Great Bear Lake in the Northwest Territories, on May 27, 1993 by Rodney Harback.

Largest on record weighed 46.3 kg (102 lbs.) and measured 126 cm., taken with a gillnet from Lake Athabasca, Saskatchewan, in 1961.

that is an impressive fish in the picture. wow.
