Coyote info needed

Recommended Posts

Its a bit late but we are going coyote hunting and shed hunting on the 9th of March for a few days in North Dakota. The info I'am looking for is the best method to go hunting yotes this time of year. Thanks for the info.

I will be hunting a ranch with a couple sections that has meadows, river bottom and lots of woods. There is very little to no pressure on this land for hunting coyotes.

a good first step would be to ask my wife if I can go smile.gifsmile.gifsmile.gif.....actually at that point of the year, they should be getting pretty close mating, they are starting to pair up right now. So, work on a challenge howl if you have the places to practice, bring along your rabbit in distress calls too. bring along white and brown camo depending how much snow cover is there. Don't skyline yourself, but I would start above the river bottoms, but don't neglect the meadows either. Talk to the ranchers, they almost always know where everything is. Most of all have fun and keep the wind in your favor

I have been hunting all over North Dakota this year, and they have been paired up since the begining of Feb. Calling has been extremely good the past few weeks. My stand to coyote ration is 2:1. I woudn't use the challenge howl unless needed too. Your distress calls will work great with a few interrogation howls at the end.
