My wife and I are headed there for a long weekend. We've never been. Any good restaurants people would reccommend? Other stuff to do? Besides the Alamo.

The river walk area is cool and worth checking out, lots of restaurants along the river so i am sure you will find one or two to your liking. Frankly I was disappointed in the Alamo, its really hard to see how it would have looked back during the battle since its bascially in the heart of downtown. Its worth seeing just becuase its the Alamo but I was a little bummed after seeing it.

The river walk is fantastic, I want to go back..lots of great shops and restaurants, if you can take the night time boat cruise as well, very cool to go down the channel with everything lit up
