PikeTipper
I have a 10" Mag 2000 and it cuts very well until the last inch or so of ice and I have a heck of a time breaking through. Is this a common problem? Is there anything that can be done? I put new blades on it and same thing happens.
0 jwhjr
I have the 8" Mag 2000 and I haven't had any issues with the last inch or so. The only issue I've noticed is that if you have ice built up on the bottom by the blade so that it keeps it from grabbing the ice at the right angle it is really tough to cut through. Once I figured that out I just make sure to have it clear as soon as I'm done drilling so it's ready for the next set. No issues since.
0 mjhowe
Check and make sure the handle is pulling the throttle all the way open...That big ten inch needs all the motor there is to cut that last bit. Mine used to do the same thing until I figured out I wasnt getting that last 50 RPM or so...Also make sure you have sharp and straight bldes and that the chisel point isnt bent. 0 zachp
I had the same problem with the express 8" on the first hole i drilled with it, i got it so stuck so bad i thought i was going to have to disconnect the powerhead and tie a bouy onto the flighting so i could retrieve it this summer, i got it out after some improvising and learned to make sure i had it pinned for the last couple inches and haven't had a problem since, although a couple days later my brother in law was drilling holes with it and did the same thing and it took him some doing to get it out but he did and it still cuts good, i'm hoping that once the blades start to dull this doesn't become more common.
