bevel up or down?

I just replaced the blades on my hand auger, mora/ol' blue/skin remover, and the old ones were on with the bevel sloping up, flat side to the ice, is that the right way? The old blades were 8" on a 7" auger, my brother in law had replaced the old set and I have a power auger, but I don't want to drag that out with the ice house tonight. anyone help me with this? I installed them with the flat side down......

I won't get out of the house until after the kids go to sleep, so I am hoping to get out of here by 9
