Toads - instead of frogs?

QUestion for all you cat guru's.....

I've seen you discussing the merits of frogs as cat bait, what about toads?

Where I live, there aren't a lot of frogs, but we've got lots of toads. Am wondering about the use of them as bait?

Thanks

UG

I went fishing in S. Illinois last weekend; used a toad as bait; hooked it through the middle and threw it out on a line around 9 pm, and left the rod. Came back around 10 pm, found that a 3lb catfish had swallowed the toad whole, and I reeled him in. That was my best catch of the weekend, by far.

Toadies do work, but I lean more to frogs wghen they are plentyfull.

When using baits of opertunity like frogs and suck...my rule is use what is the most avalable. Odds are that is what the cats will be gobb'n up too. If toads are everywhere..Eh..what the heck...give them a fling and see if they are on the menue.
