Spearing and Fishing

I read a article in the back of our local paper that read the DNR, will now let you fish and spear at the same time, basically the spear is a line and then you can have another with a hook in it, be it a tipup outside or a jigging pole in the spear hole, i was wondering if anyone else has seen it or not.

Yes, you can spear and have another line in the water it is a new law this year its in MN Dnr Fishing regulations book also. There is also some other posts on subject here.

Yes, it is something that has been passed by the DNR. Since it has been pasted and i have been out spearing, more and more people that i see, are spearing in there house, and having a tip up outside of the house. I myself, dont do it becuase i dont like ot be running out of the house all the time for the tip up.

I just heard on Fan outdoors that the line can't be unattended like a tip up out side your shack . Even the host said the new rule is a bit tuff to decipher .

It a SWEET Law, I love it, i nice i have been spearing and had some nice perch come in the hole and got to watch there relaxing to my jig. SWEET
