No rain around the hills. We got a dusting last night.

I know! I am ready for some snow so I can get out and hunt coyotes. The lakes are also going to look pretty scary after this little spell!

Box Car: Were you doing some kind of snow dance yesterday? My buddy is a state trapper and he said the fur prices have sky rocketed!!!

I heard $5.50 for rats on the rat. $6.50 skinned I have seen a lot of huts while pheasant hunting and driving in SD. If a guy had a hundred or so traps he would hate to miss out on a op like this one. A few weeks out in the old marsh could pay for some nice new toys that the wife wouldn't have to even wonder where the money went.

not sure about trapping, but would really like to get my permanate out. I just don't trust the ice.

Isnt that so cool when the weather guy are just happy when we start to get warm weather. All they must care about is when they can get their golf clubs out.

Anyone have any recent ice reports? The last 2 nights have been cold enough with lows in the teens I would expect decent ice to start reforming in most areas, atleast for walking.

Hows the ice looking after the snow/rain that went through over the weekend?

I havent been out since last Thursday. I fished Wall Lake for a few hours in the morning. Wasnt expecting much just wanted to dial in my new Marcum Ice then was 6" and good clear ice. The water was very clear, I could see all the way to the bottom at 10ft. Saw alot of fish, blue gills and pearch but couldnt get any to bite.

I didnt make it out fishing over the weekend. Chose pheasant hunting instead. I have been waiting to hunt the birds all year in snow and finally got my wish. Hunting with a pointer was the best its been all year. What birds that didnt flush 150yrds away had to be stepped on or kicked to flush. What a rush!
