anchor man
When people report that fish are active off the drop in 35ft of water, does that mean the drop may go from say 12 ft down to 50ft, but the fish are active at 35? Or, does it mean the drop off goes from say 12ft to 35ft and the fish are active at the bottom of the drop.
eyepatrol
I'd suspect that it would be the latter of the two, where it bottoms out at 35' deep and the fish are hanging at the base. Unless of course there is a shelf at 35' that extends out before dropping into 50', that could be a possibility also. However, if it's 50' deep and it slopes continually up to 12', I think the fish will simply be cruising past the 35' mark on their way up or down the slope instead of hanging at the 35' mark, but I could be wrong. Team Otter
Typically at the bottom of the drop or even away (or "off") the drop 15 - 20 yards.
