Best way to keep them is to Vaccum seal them or the Ice block trick.

But favorite way to make is deep fried.

I love using ShoreLunch original or Cajun mix.

Very close 2nd is to bake them.

Preheat the oven to 450, and melt some butter.

Place foil in baking tray, and lay the fillets.

Sprinkle season salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste.

Then pour melted butter over fillets, enough to cover half fillets.

Place in oven, cook till fish flakes. Usually take about 15-20mins.

Man am I hungry now!!!!!!!!!!!

Lure, check the Recipes section of this forum. I'll second the vacumn packing, no more freezer burn.

Mr. Special, I like your baked recipe, I may try it, but I'll give the thumbs down to the cajun, my brother ruined a bunch of red lake crappie fillets one time. We had just finished the first plate of regular Shorelunch, was looking forward to more, then he came with cajun. Spicey hot and fish don't match in my humble opinion! I was bummed! A whole plate of fish ruined!

Buy yourself the new In-Fisherman cookbook if you want some great recipes or browse their HSOforum. Chef Lucia Watson has some of the best darn fish recipes I've ever had. I make many of her recipes all the time with my favorite being the "walleye in white wine sauce" or the latest from a recent IF edition which was walleye with a nice mushroom garlic cream sauce over wild rice wink.gif I fish for and eat walleyes about 3 to 4 nights a week for most of the year and I love to cook so I'm always searching out new recipes.

No water in the bag... it could get sucked up into the vacuum sealer and you'll be looking for a new one.

I try and blot as much water as possible from the filets and then seal them. Some people go a step further and put the fillets in the freezer and allow them to freeze a little bit so they don't have to deal with the water.
