Bought some 18 led and 32 LED 1156 bulbs...

Bought them off of hsolist and just got them today. Put them in the fish house and I think they'll work just fine for ceiling lights. If I had one more ceiling light fixture installed, I think they'd be perfect. I'll try to grab a shot with them so you can see how bright they are.. They're not as bright as the incadecent, but they'll save quite a bit on the power consumption.

Alright, here are a couple of pictures. The pictures do not show how bright all the lights are, but here they are anyways.

Here's 32 led version installed by bench and the 18 led version in fixture above me.

Here's the 18LED version above bench and 32 above me.

And here's the standard bulbs.

As you can see, the bulbs look alot brighter in the pictures, and they are.. The LED's do not appear to be as dim as the picture shows though.

If I were to use the bulbs, I wouldnt have both fixtures on, only the one above the bench. The picture shows both fixtures on though...

What did ya look under on
HSOList
to find those? Also need someone to tell me how to re- size a photo so I can post a picture of my home-made shack.

Try hid-lights. I found his hsolist prices were cheaper than his store pricing.

A better hsolist search is 1156 led.

Ok, these pictures are really useless.. After sitting inside, lookin at them, I began to doubt if they were bright enough. So, I went back into the house and turned them on. They are perfectly fine. Plenty bright, it's just a different kind of light. More of a warm white light, instead of the yellow light the other bulbs give.

I'd have no problems playing cards, tying knots or reading with the ligth they provide.

I just purchased a couple of 1157 led bulbs from a super bright led site on the net. The bulbs are 24 led, they have 18 (30 degree wide angle) leds that point down and 6 perimeter leds that cast light 90 degrees out from the bulb. I plan to install them into my coverted camper. Have not got them yet but will post with resaults. They were about $13 per bulb. I also purchased single led bulbs on a 3ft. lead that I plan to use as hole lights. The single leds cost about $3 per for white.

caughtacase73,

Are these the bulbs you bought?

If so, I have ones very similiar and if your fixture holds the bulbs horizontally, they will not provide enough downward light. They really only provide good foward light. I put them in my hole light fixtures.

Those are the lights. I plan on mounting them on the ceiling, one above my table and one above the rear area of the house. My camper is only about 12 ft. on the inside. I hope they are enough. I plan to paint the interior paneling white to brighten things up. Thanks for the heads up though.

I have these but in red for my hole lights. They light up the holes great but without it being too bright when you are trying to sleep.

so whats the best bulb for a fixture thats holds the bulbs horizontialy. Looks like the 18 led bulb give light out to the side?

Would like to try these but pretty spendy when you have 12 bulbs in your fishhouse, but was thinking of trying in a couple lights to save battery power.

Great house Kylersk. I saw that you just built it, must be dying to get it out. how long is the permanent house season going to be? not long enough!

Dude are you going to actually fish out of this house. Man that thing is way nice than my house. Maybe you would be interested in trading grin.gif. You have done an awesome job of documenting your house build and it has really been fun to watch. Enjoy the house when you get it on the lake. But once you get it on the lake you will probably never want to come off the lake grin.gif.

I know they sell bulbs that have a 90 degree turn in them. These would work for your horizontal lights.

One HSOforum that sells those 90 degree turn bulbs said something about 'Not for continues use, do not use in dome lights'. Not sure why though.

i put the 1157's in my perm and i ended up sending them back right away. i wanted more light than they gave off. i ended up going with 12v florresents and i think they are great. tried them for the fist time last weekend and very bright, and after 24 hours of the 2 bulbs and 100 watt radio, i still had 60% of the battery left. not too bad but will never last like the leds' but when i am in a perm, i am there for comfort, and if i have to sqwint to see my cards playing poker, than i think there isnt enough light. it all comes down to saving energy (LEDS) or brightness. i choose brightness

    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
