Well the goose season is over for me. It was a pretty good one for me. It was mine, and my buddys first year hunting geese. We shot about 50 birds. We ended the late season sunday. I shot five and he got three. Not a bad way to end the season! I wanted to thank everyone on here, for all the helpfull hints!! I had alot of beginner questions!! Thanks everyone, and hope to hear from you all next september!!! Jimmy

wow what a season. my hunting party and i shot a lot of birds this year and not just in minnesota. we traveled to canada and shot over 500 snow geese and many mallards. then in minnesota we finish our season with 253 dark geese and 2 snows. not bad i'd say. with all those birds we ended up with 1 mallard band, 1 ross snow goose band and 2 canadian geese bands. it was fun talking to alot of people on here and also learning some stuff too. hope to stay in touch with everyone and if anyone wants to get out and try and shoot some coyotes and foxes give me a shout. hope to talk to everyone thoughout the year. have a happy new year.

The goose season at the cabin where we waterfowl hunt was one of the best ever for us. At home near Woodbury where I hunt during the week it was the poorest ever. Only 4 geese and that was the last weekend, we usually shoot that many the first day at least. They just don't want to leave city limits frown.gif Canada was good for us again this year, but hope to get into the light geese more next year.

We shot one of the lower number of birds with only 98 but i blame that on the deer. Since many weekend i spent chasing a buck around that got away. But all in all it was a great season. When we hunted we did really well and shot lots of birds on those day. When we were hunting our group got one banded mallard, (Hen killer Flick got that one grin.gif) and i took down a banded goose. I am allready lookng forward to next year. Now time to do some varmit control!!

No Jimmy, I wish I could hunt on Radio. I am just north of 94 on 10th St. It's Lake Elmo, but close to woodbury. I can see the strip mall with Gander Mountain in it from my house and there are a ton of geese that stay around there. I am about 1.5 miles from the river.

I'd say this year's goose hunting was the poorest I've had in quite some time. In fact, the geese and duck numbers we got this year seemed to flip-flop. In the past 7 - 10 years we'd get more geese than ducks, but this year we got more ducks than geese.

Only 5 geese for us this year, and 4 of those (my avatar) came one morning during the early goose season. I just didn't see the numbers come through here like in past years.

I can't complain though. It was fun to finally shoot at flocks of ducks once again. Was really happy with the numbers of mallards around this year.

Okay I think I know where you are at!! I am right by lake jane. I have had great hunting all year. It got better later in the year. Lake elmo never froze over yet!! I drove past there the other day there was thousands of geese on there. The guys I see are on the corner of radio and 10th street.

My best season in years for sure! Never had so many geese fly into our duck and goose decoys while hunting on the water!

People who didn't have a good season were'nt hunting the right spots for sure or were a day late or early. But thats hunting!

Gotta love it! Will we have water to hunt this year? confused.gif
