Aqua Vu Monitor?

I recently came into possession of a second-hand Aqua Vu from a friend & the monitor won't come on.

He didn't use it much (once or twice in two years) so I charged it for a full 24 hours. The power light LED comes on - but there's no power to the monitor screen. The cable is securely plugged into the back of the unit. If I hit the LED light, the lights do not come on in the camera unit either.

It seems odd that the power light comes on, so it's getting some power, but nothing from the monitor at all. Any ideas?

it might be getting some power, but not enough to run the unit. The battery may be fried. Try it on a battery you know is good and fully charged. Otherwise you may have to call Aqua-Vu customer service.

As for the lights not coming on. You may have a camera with Infra-red lights, if that is the case you will not be able to see if the lights are on or not, as infra-red is outside the spectrum our eyes can see.

Dietz, wouldn't think it, but maybe so since it's been used so seldom. I have another same-voltage battery I'll drag out & see if it works.

And regarding the infra-red...duuuuuuh..it's a wonder I manage to find my way off the ice at the end of the day!

Another thing to try. Plug the unit directly into your home tv using the video out plug in. If you see the image on your tv then you know something is up with the monitor, granted the battery is not the issue.

My guess is that the camera cord is toast. I had a similar problem last year.

I decided to start with the easiest solution first & replaced the battery. Viola! Working Aqua Vu!
