The 1' lake count you have listed is WAY too high-it was 32 in '06 (not including LakeMaster 3' ProMap lakes-about 23-I think this is the prob.). The 65 count for the '07 does NOT include LakeMaster lakes (I think use about 8-10 in the '07). All of the new surveys have been completed in the past 12 months (fresh produce). So the new total, with LakeMaster is about 73-75. I'll save you all some work. North '06 MN actual count was 2018 (I can't beleive someone actually counted them-you guys are HARD CORE!). '07 count for MN is 2069(preliminary).Whats important is WHAT has been surveyed-don't assume the list is the same as what other companies have done. Also, the Great Lakes data and rivers data is very extensive. LOTW and Rainy data is also improved. Roads are nice to have as well.Oh yeah-$50 trade in for ANY of your old charts (one-for-one) for the new chart at your local dealer.Don't forget, you aren't just getting MN in the North-theres 5 other states included. whitetips
Jeff, Thanks for all your support and hard work, being a former tour angler I have watched this all unfold. I like the combination of having both chips LM MPM 07 and Nav Pre 07 N. Thanks again
Paul Waldowski
I'm with you on this one. For anyone that fishes in Minnesota and its surrounding states, this chip will be the way to go. I'll be standing in line with Dietz, or ahead of him to get one when they are released.

Xplorer
This what I've been waiting to see.....I had heard that you guys were out on Kabetogama this year and i was really hoping that it was going to be on the '07 chip as I spend about 20-25 days up on Kab/Namakan each summer camping. Put me down for being in line right behind these other 2 Jeff, when do you expect that these will be at retailers? I asked Russ at Marine General here in Duluth and he figured right around the boat show in March (this is my Xmas gift from the Mrs by the way!) Dietz, it was nice meeting you on Fish last weekend, you can bet that I will be picking up a few more of those varmints this week
augernaut
Great news - can you give some info on what's upgraded on the Wisconsin side of things? I have been holding off on buying a chip on the rumor of the 07 Navionics chip - I'd sure like to know what, if any, high def surveys were done in Wisconsin for the new chip! Thanks! schweady
Hey, thanks for helping set those numbers straight, Jeff. I was counting LakeMaster 3' lakes in there, I know. But it wasn't an intentional trick to make the upgrade look bad. On the contrary, I'm looking at possibly pulling the trigger on the upgrade myself some day, if only for LOW and Rainy, depending on how long LM takes to upgrade theirs. And, yes, somebody has to play the part of HARD CORE fishgeek! (Counting lakes? It's actually some fairly simple copy-pasting from your web site and having Excel do the dirty work... ...but I still must have some rivers or border lakes included in my MN data...) So, here's another (almost complete) stab at it: Current HotMaps Premium North chip Lake Count - North: 5,087 total Lake Count - MN: 2,018 Total Surveyed (1') Lakes - North: 59 Total Surveyed Lakes, including LakeMaster (3') - North: 83 Total Surveyed (1') Lakes - MN: 35 Total Surveyed Lakes, including LakeMaster (3') - MN: 60 HotMaps Premium North '07 chip Lake Count - North: 5,874 total Lake Count - MN: 2,069 Total Surveyed (1') Lakes - North: 165 Total Surveyed Lakes, including LakeMaster (3') - North: _???_ Total Surveyed (1') Lakes - MN: 65 Total Surveyed Lakes, including LakeMaster (3') - MN: 73-75 Now... when is this probably hitting the shelves? (and thanks for helping out on that rebate, Jeff -- I got my $50 check this week... just in time to turn it around on a new chip???)
Hotspotter
Will the Roads map on the new '07 chip be a complete inventory of all roads? Just major highways? Random guy
I love this, back when map chips where new I used to keep a little holder in my truck that had all chips for all the states in it. Every time I crossed a state line I had to change chips in units and try not to lose the others. Now it is on one chip. For the same price as what I was paying for each separate state. I can also say that the maps are dead on. Fishing Musky on a competitive level you need to be on the spot on the spot. The maps show every turn and bump on the rock reefs with accurate positing making boat control a snap. I'm pumped for the new chip, I will be first in line after I push Paul and Deitz out of the way. So Jeff, I currently have seven chips...so if I trade all of those for the new one does that mean I get a chip and you owe me $200? ( I don't like the one for one rule)
nolte
Fellas, I need somebody to clarify a few things for me. I've got the lakemaster pro maps chips for both MN and WI, with the 1 foot and 3 foot contours. Absolutely love them, and it almost feels like cheating. Anyway, does this new Navionics chip have those same surveyed lakes in the same detail, plus a bunch more, with all the states combined. Which LM maps are carried over on to the Nav chip. I'm especially interested in LOW (both Us and Can), Cheq bay, St Louis River, Lil Bay de Noc, Rainy, Green Bay with the Fox. I mainly want to know if I'll get the same stuff thats on my current chips, plus additional stuff. Also is this dead-on like the lakemaster chip. One knoc on some of the older stuff was that it was off the structure a bit. So can I trade in one of my old chips and LM chips and get $50. Prob not, but I had to try. Thanks
Paul Waldowski
Nolte,If you go Here it will give you a list of the lakes and all the information that you need. Just glancing at what you are looking for, I would say that this would be the chip for you.
Papa Woodie
Is this chip compatible with a Lowrance IFinder HUNT handheld GPS? Manual says it takes "FreedomMaps".... (MMC or SDC cards)
CatManLee
I'm looking at getting a new chip this year,(my first ever) but this one doesn't have Upper Red on it? I like the fact that it has LOW/Rainy on it, but I'm tossing around the idea of wich one to get. The LakeMaster chip has Upper Red in 6" detail for 2007, and has some lower detail maps of lakes I fish around here. (Maple Lake, etc.) It looks like if I only fish MN, The LakeMaster chip would be better for me? It's cheaper too! I would have to buy a seperate chip for LOW, but I would still have all the lakes I want at a cheaper price. Am I right on this or wrong? Again I am brand new to "Lake Chips" and definitely don't know alot about them, just what I have read. If I missed something please let me know. I don't want to spend $100 plus dollars and wish I would have got the "other one" ya know...Thanks.

Papa Woodie
Thanks Paul....something tells me i shouldn't have missed that in the list. Now that you got out of line to check on that for me, and you didn't "quack quack seat back"....i'm taking over you place in line. Just need to find a buddy now with an old chip he will give me so i can utilize the 50$ rebate on it! Woo Hoo!Thanks a million
