1998 454 artic cat problem

My brother has one of these and it runs great except it will load up to the point of killing the engine and then won't start unless you put in a new plug. Then its fine for a while again. Just to untrustworthy to get stuck in nowhere land. Any suggestions thanks

I had the same problem in cold weather on our '96 years ago. Cold start, full choke, allow it to warm up and it would foul a plug. Only when it was cold, like below zero. Brought it to the dealer where they installed some upgrades, like a primer on the carb and something else...sorry, I can't recall, but it ended those fouling issues.

Check with a dealer to see if there were some updates for the carb and see what they have to say about the problem.
