Me and my son fished Brush from 2pm to 7pm. We ended up with 4 keeper walleyes, 14 to 19 inchers. We caught all our fish jigging. My buddy fishing next to us caught 3 keeper eyes, all on dead sticks, and none jigging. We also threw back a hand full on dinks. The ice where we fished was 8.5inches. There was about 6 full size vehicles that drove out on the ice. There was even a full size suburban that drove on the ice.

The full size Suburban, was it a blue 98 and the guys use a hand auger? They drove out once when I wouldnt have driven my 88 Buick with 125,ooo on it onto the ice. I saw these guys several times when no one else had driven out. Crazy.

Four of us fished a couple days last week and cought between 25-30 walleyes both days. Most fish were between 14-15, some shorter, a couple 17. Guys I have talked to since say it has really died. The only pigs I have heard coming out came right after freeze up. I thought that was wierd too because I dont think I have caught any under 20 anytime I have fished it in the spring, not great numbers for me either. I hate to say it but some people might have to learn the hard way about drivin on the ice, I just cannot believe what I have seen on 6-8inches this year. It was like perch fishin the way they would come throug in schools, have a little downtime, and go nuts again on the same few hot holes, was a great day bite too in awsome weather. Just not the same walleye fishin you normally see, but a great time.
