Best Ice Fishing GPS

I have a Garmin IQue 3600 whiich I like BUT,. It does not have a Track mode where you can see your track you ar currently making. Tou have to go into track subscreens and choose your start time and stop time and then it will track where you were. Another thing is that this fall I bought a Lake Master Minnesota CD and you have to go into subscreens agian to switch from City Select mode to MN Lake map mode or yo will be driving in the ditch the whole way there in lake mode.

I went with the Lowrance Expedition color found it at the ice show it was $20.00 more than the H20 color I also went with the Lakemaster chip. Reason I went with the expedition is because I wanted the electronic compass and barometric altimeter and for the extra $20.00 I figured it was worth it.

I have the Expedition as well, just got my 07 Lakemaster MN chip today.

I purchased a Lowrance Expedition color this summer for $237. It was the best deal I found by far and well worth the price. The unit has a few add'n features than the h20c, mentioned by someone above. I have the navionics chip since I wanted a much larger range of lakes than lakemaster. However, both chips definately have their advantages. Lakemaster has a few more lakes that have 1 foot contours and also has lots of roads.

But yes, I love the gps. I used it all the time nightfishing and can't wait to use it now during the winter.

I also have the expedition, it works great for ice fishing and hunting. The lakemaster chip is nice because it has all the paved and gravel roads, but the navionics chips has contour maps for a lot more lakes.

Bein' here on Lake Champlain ( Vermont side )the only GPS that had the software with Champlain on it was the Magellan. I went with the explorist 500. Nice unit, color screen, compass, ect. Great accuracy and great detail on the navigation maps.(weed beds ,rock pile, sunken vessel...It's pretty COOL !)

Is the H2O with no color have all the same thing as the color or is there something different?

the color unit has 16 channels WAAS, while the B&W unit has 12 channels. Everything else should be the same.
