Jiffy Legend Lightning: loud and sharp jerk when engaging auger

Just bought a new Jiffy Legend Lighting and wondered if this is

normal for it when warming up it that when you rev it up to

engage the auger it is rather a sharp jerk and noise when it

finally engages the clutch? Never used a Jiffy before, had an

Eskimo Stingray that never felt like this when engaging the

auger.

The Jiffy clutch will clunk for the first year or so, depending on how much you use it. It is normal. The clutch in a Jiffy is one of the best. A little stiff until they get broken in.

Thanks for the response, I was not sure it was good or not when I first heard it make this noise. I thought it might break if I was not careful.
