My mom and dad are visting in the next couple of weeks and I am looking for some good catfish lakes in the area.
My folks are still livin in Iowa and my dad lovessss catfish.(he fishes the old miss) but he also prefer to fish the lakes for cats.

I am basically turned towards bass fishin.

any help would be greatly wecolmed.

regardless the most important thing is time with family.

so any lakes that have cats(also bass if poosible) would be welcomed.

thanks

Check out the Horseshoe Chain in Richmond, MN, which is just west of St. Cloud. The whole chain is loaded with cats. You can't go wrong there. Vern

Have you ever tried the Crow River for cats? I know its not a lake but I am asking kind of for myself. I have thought about going there a couple times but usually end up going to the Minnesota River instead.

I've caught one channel on a crawler where the North Fork of the Crow inlets to Deer Lake (been there twice), and I saw a big dead one on the shore of Buffalo this spring. The DNR survey for Buffalo shows channels. I'd think that if you could find the snagpiles on your sonar at Deer or Buffalo, there'd be a chance of gettin' a cat outta one.
