You certainly want to try this line. I really think you will like using it. The floro is excellent. It does not have the stiffness and "memory" associated with floro, but gives you the benifits of floro. (Strenght, low stretch and sensitivity) This is a great pitching line as well.

I know you asked Doug, but I'll chime in anyway. I have a couple different flipping rods.. I had both the 17 lb Flro gamma and the 17 lb mono gamma.. both worked very good for me. I may jump it up to 20 lb for next season.. not becuase I needed more strenght, but because I can because the line was so lime.. the reason I went with 17 was to keep it from being to stiff, I was surprised by how limp the 17 was actualy.

as for how to get on prostaffs... Make out a fishing resume and start contacting companies. Keep in mind.. the pro in prostaff is not profesional.. its promotional...These companies need someone who can sell product. Many times they could care less how good a fisherman you are. It helps if you have won a few tournaments, but that is not your major selling point. If you do seminars, write articles ect.. that is much more attractive to them.

Hey CB-

Dietz answered your question very well. I have however, dropped from 17lb trilene to 14 lb Gamma. I don't think I have dropped anything in strength, and still think that the Gamma is a tougher line. I do like both the floro and Mono depending on situation and water clarity. There has been a lot of talk of "does line color matter" which is another post, but I do think line diameter matters as well as color. I do a lot of pitching under, way under docks, and the limpness and castability of Gamma has improved my presentation.

As for the Pro Staff--- Dietz hit it. It is not Professional but promotional. The bottom line for the company is "can you expose our product to the public and sell it", and "how are you going to do that". If you are going to be approaching companies requesting their sponsorship, their typical reply will be for you to send a resume and your contact information and if they are intersted, they will contact you. Your resume should include evidence of your ability in public speaking and people skills. The ability to fish should be a given.

Guy's on expensive lines you can make them go futher if you will spend the time to put cheaper mono on you reels as a backing and then use back to back uni-knots to attach the floro. to the backing. That way you only have to spool 50 yards at a time. And on you pitch/flipping rigs, you can short spool yourself ( about 1/2 half) of a full spool of line if your using baitcasting rigs. This will not only save you line, but stop the dreaded proffessional over run and give you better line control for flipping and pitching. Deitz, I've been spooling for years by dropping whichever line I'm going to spool into a bucket 1/2 full of warm water and spooling away... it cuts down on line twist and lays better on the spools.

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
