snoozebutton
Has anyone owned/tried this? I was thinking of getting the Vexilar 20 Ultra Pack for $550 but for another $150 I could get this and use it on the ice and in the boat.
PerchJerker
Here's a thread from the ice fishing forum that will help you. http://www.fishingminnesota.com/forum/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=863276&page=1&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1 I don't them ice fishing but I have a couple 332s on my boat, they're great units. I fished with a guy last year using a 332 on the ice and it worked great. I've only heard good things from the guys that do it. Good luck.
snoozebutton
Thanks PJ, they pretty much covered converting a LMS 332 for ice fishing but the LMS 334 is made for summer and winter use. Just wondering if anyone here has tried one or are they new this year.
snoozebutton
Also, I was checking Lowrance's site and the mapping software you can get for it doesn't include LOW, Rainy Lake or the Chippewa Flowage. It's compatible with the LakeMaster® Pro Maps and those three lakes aren't listed.
PerchJerker
The 332 and 334 are identical, except the 332 uses an external gps antenna and the 334 has an internal antenna. Other than the gps antenna the mounting, power connections, transducer, menus and performance would be the same between the 2 units. If the Lowrance map chip doesn't have all the lakes you want try looking at Navionics, their north region chip might have them and it will work in your 334. snoozebutton
Thanks again PJ, appreciate the info!!! I sent an email to Lowrance today asking them about specific lakes and I'll have to check out the Navionics.
PerchJerker
Good luck. If you go that route post back here with how it works and if you like it or not, lots of guys are probably wondering the same thing.
Paul Waldowski
Snoozebutton, The Navionics chip contains all of LOW, all of Rainy Lake and also has the Chippewa flowage in high definition. It is a great chip to run if you fish multiple states. It is also compatible with the 334.
