iam trying to decide between the scout xl and the scout 2 do you guys think the 2" bigger screen is worth it or not. i was also wondering can you change out the battery so you can use it longer or are the batteries internal. thanks shawn earley

I have the scout 2 and I think the 5" screen is plenty. Someone told me that the bigger screens drained your battery faster. The battery in mine is internal but it looks like I can take it out. Not sure if I can hook it up to a bigger battery or not.

The Scout 2 has the SR lights.. the Scout XL does not.. So if you plan at all to use it at night.. Get the scout 2... I myself do not use the camera at night so I have the scout XL becuase I do like the larger screen. The Scout Xl also have a few more feet of cable.. 50 vs 65 I think? Both have internal batteries that are the same as you would use in a vex/marcum flasher.. and can be removed and changed out fairly easy. Also, both the scout 2 and the Scout XL have the same exact battery.

For me,I really like the 7 versus the 5 inch screen.

I would go with the 7 inch, easier to see on. If you want to save some money go to this HSOforum and get a remanufactured aqua view. http://www.naturevisioninc.com/shop_nvi/home.php?cat=6 I bought 2 ice pro's for the cost of one normal aqua view. Then I just used the front viewing fin on the fish and ta-da you can view sideways or down. Plus I like the spool for your cord better on the old ice pro. Haven't had any problems yet.
