I Bought A Chubby Darter!!

The lures I bought are 4's. I may have to broaden my horizons and try to find some other color patterns and maybe try a bigger size. I stuck with what I thought looked like natural forage. I have to travel a ways to find a tackle store that stocks them. It would be nice to find some I could order on-line. I know my budget would not allow 14 though. I may have to add them to my Christmas list!

Ya that's what I like to hear! Hope I get that many bite's to need another 14. Say what do you use for leaders or wire, I bought some cortland 30 lb test wire that a guy can tie. Anyone try this stuff before. don't know if this will work has good as they say.

may your darters look chubby and swift in the water. ooo.gif

Another web site suggested using a small snap on the line to attach the darter to, or a loop knot. I don't normally use snaps or leaders but I did find some real fine wire leaders at the store yesterday. I didn't think they were wire at first, they were so skinny. I am still reluctant to use them, wanting the presentation to be as natural as possible. But I don't want to lose the darter either. The web site I looked at had the darters for 6.95 plus shipping. They also did not recommend tipping the darter claiming the action and color patterns on the darter is all that is needed. They also talked about a dropper for perch. That is something I have never tried either.
