I know this is probabally going to turn into a ford vs. chevy battle... But I was wondering what everyone uses for line? I am having troubles w/ snarles all over in my line. I use 4lb. test and I mostly jig with small jigs and waxworms... I close my bail by hand and dont really spin the drag all that much... Is there a type of line that's better than the other or is there something I can do to my line? Thanks!

I'm a big fan of P-Line Floroclear or Floroice. These are flourocarbon coated mono lines that perform very well in winter conditions, and most seasonal conditions for that matter. These lines are designed to help reduce line memory (coiling), help reduce freeze-up, have excellent strength yet keep small diameters, help stay limp in cold condistions, as well as the visability factor under the ice (virtually invisible).

I use P-Line for pretty much all my ice fishing endeavors. Everything from pannies to pike and lakers. I have no complaints so far...

I used florice sp? last year. It held up great! Virtually no memory, and very strong for diamater. It will be the only mono I use this year. Except I might give the new gamma ice line a try since it performed so well for me this summer.

For small jigs I'm assuming your panfishing. I don't think you'd have a problem dropping to 2# test. Berkley Vanish is my favorite followed by Berkley Micro Ice.

2# will have less memory and coil less.

I've never used the P-Line because the don't sell the stuff at any stores in Rochester.

I use berkely Vanish 4-6lbs lines. They have been great for me, pulled out a 25" eye at lake mil lac with 4lbs line. Berkely Vanish has been great for me, very smooth and durable. One thing I really like about it, is it dissapear in the water.

P-Line first choice with the Vanish a close second...Use it all year in different #tests, we were catching 4-6 pound lake whitefish this summer on 2 and 4 lb line...only got broke off once, and I think it was just cause I hadnt retied after about 5 fish!
