Tuning question

Howdy all,

Had problems earlier this year with a Lowrider from Holcombe/Musky Buster - had trouble at times getting the rear section/blade to rotate. Seems to me there isn't much else to do other than increase/decrease the cupping(which didn't help from my experience) cuz there isn't much give for increasing the actual angle of the prop in relation to the body(like on a Topraider). Any suggestions/help? Thanks, later.

Thanks guys, kinda weird that it worked fine for a while and then kinda went downhill. I thought it might have gotten out of whack from smacking down after those big bomb casts or something - who knows. I'll try driving around with her awhile, she just might need some attention!

there are only so many things one can do with them.check the lure very carefully to see if it is gettting hung on something, or binding . play with it in a bath tub,or open water some where and experiment.

Ok Cooter you are going to make me type.

A couple of things with the LOW Rider.

1) Check that the body parts spin free, mostly when wet. Some lures will swell up when they get water logged and bind up enough to stop spinning(hence the attenna trick to wear em out a little).

2) Make sure on a twin body bait that the front blade has more cup than the rear. The front disturbs the water causing the rear to need a slower cup to get spinning. Plus this gives the bait a more complex sound.

3) Try pushing the rear body off center slightly. Sometimes this will help, why I don't know.

4)Check that the parts and peices between the bodies are not catching the spinning body.

5) Make sure you don't have a gob of paint on the end of the blade and none close to the body, sometimes this will create to much weight on the end of the blade making it tough to get spinning.

6) if you have made some radical hook changes one of the hooks may be contacting body parts or creating enough disturbance in the water to mess up the rear blade.
