old Coke clock

ssaamm

Question

I have an old Coke clock from my Grandpa's gas station. I am sure that is 1950' or 60's vintage. It was made by the Hannover Co. of Ohio. It's probably 2ft x 2ft. It keeps time just fine, but recently the big, circular flourescent bulb burned out-- or so I thought. Ran down to FleetFarm to get a replacement--twice. Popped her in and it still didn't work--twice. Where do I go from here? I have heard of replacing a ballast? or find an electrical shop of some sort? Thanks for the help. I would like to keep Grandpa's clock going.

50+ year old clock, I wouldn't doubt if it were the ballast.

I don't know how much things have changed in that time between now and then as far as finding a replacement that'll work. It should pop out if you push and turn. If the new big box stores don't carry the part try an electronics shop.
