Pheasants in Mitchell area ????

How is the corn crop in Mitchell area ? I will be coming this weekend for a family TG and plan to hit west of Mitchell

Valv, I'm actually headed out there this friday. Going to be in the Huron area, NW of Mitchell. From past years out there, the corn is usually gone by the 2nd week of opener, but you may find a few areas left standing. GL

Was in the Huron/Yale area last week very little if any corn left. Lots of birds in the area we were hunting. Buddies hunted Mitchell area a couple of weeks ago birds down from last year but still had a good hunt. Publics have been pounded pretty hard just to warn you.

Thanks for that update brother. My pa scored a few private areas during opener so hopefully they are holding less pressured birds. The pup will have fun and that's all that matters really. The drought wasn't nice to the birds this year.

If you are hunting private in the Huron area you will have great hunting. We have been going there for 16 years, most birds I have seen in a long time. Shoot straight and often!
