I am in the process of getting some work done on my gun at Joes sporting goods. I am having them put a new 3x9x40mm SB scope. They said they thought they were made by Bushnell. It listed for $199 on sale for $99. Does anyone know anything about this scope? Will it be alright on my.222rem

I'm not familiar with the product you chose but my advise is this.

From my past experience I have learned that you don't want to skimp on quality when it comes to optics. This seems to hold true for scopes, binoculars, camara lenses, etc.

I've used lower quality scopes only to be very dissappointed. My first one was a cheapie and I discovered to my dismay that it couldn't hold its set point. I took my rifle out and checked it before deer season and then later missed two deer at less than 50 yards. I checked the rifle again only to discover it was hitting 9" low at 25 yards. I threw the scope away. I've had other scopes cloud over because the seals weren't very good and had to throw them away as well.

I own a set of binoculars now that I had received as a gift and few years ago (I appreciate the thought) and the optics are no longer aligned well enough to get a clear picture anymore. These have never been dropped or abused that I am aware of so who knows why?
