Fishtrap Guide owners - where do you put your power auger?

Thinking about getting a Fishtrap Guide, but it doesn't look like I could get my power auger into the sled like I can with my Fishtrap II. Is there a stable way to set it on top? I was thinking that maybe with the seats slid back that you could set it crosswise on the seat rails.

Mine(224) fits perfect across the seat rails. This is in a Guide. can even turn the auger bit to lock it in. Just be cautious of the cover and youll be fine.

When I still had my guide I would shove the seats all the way forward. I was able to load the guide in and out the vehicle no problem with the auger laying across the back of the seat tubing.

Thanks for the quick replies. I have a Subaru wagon, so it's good to know that it will hold the auger fairly securely while driving.

Reynolds - what happened to your Guide? Just curious.

I started fishing with my dad more often and it got a little cramped in there. So, at the end of last season I sold my Guide knowing that I was going to upgrade this season. I wish I would have kept it looking back on it now. It was a pretty handy portable to have with it being able to fit in the back of a Blazer I had at the time. Also, it is light enough to load down with equipment (power auger, camera, flasher, rods, etc.) and still be able pull it a fair amount of distance.

I'd have to second what the others said about putting it on top of the rails. I slide the seats forward and put it behind and have never had a problem with it moving around

I run w/ only one of the seats in most the time. When i do this i set the powerhead of the auger on the floor of the sled and the drill on the seat rack, the back side mor often than the front. I love the guide as a one man, i can handle it myself with all gear and equip. Having the option of the second seat is just a benefit.

I have an older model Guide. I slide my seat all the way back and put the auger in the front of the tub.
