Eye Rod

I have a few Thorne Bros rods and I am looking to get a new eye rod.I already have a Deadstick rod and was thinking of a new jigging rod.Who has used a Thorne for jigging and which one?

Would you replace it with another?

The Walleye Sweetheart is the way to go. I have 3 and getting a 4th version of this. I have two of the 28" med for my main jigging sticks. Then I have one of the outside types they make and I just ordered a new one of the Med Hvy ones. They are all really nice. The Sweetheart Perch will work decent it is a little lite for my liking but if using smaller lures it will work good.

Hey Tom-

Don't think that you need an eye rod to fish eyes, but you do need a heavier rod to fish eyes with larger spoons.

Match the rod/line/lure combination and you're golden!

My walleye fishing, 95% of it is done with my Perch Sweetheart rods which are absolutely perfect for fishing 1/8oz spoons such as Angel Eye Jrs, Go-Devils, pimples, etc. Accidentally caught my 20lb pike on one of those rods and a number of eyes in the 6-8 lb range as well.

Now if I go up to the Angel Eye, larger chubby darters, jigging raps, and larger pimples, I need a stouter rod and thats where the walleye sweetheart comes into play.
