How long are walleyes good for

How long is walleye good for if it is on ice in the fridge? How long can a guy wait to cook it?

3 days is a good rule of thumb. Depending on your fridge temp it could be more or less. You said on ice so thats good but they should also be dry.

I cleaned some last night and I wont have time to cook them until Thursday. They taste so much better when they are cooked without ever being in the freezer.

I keep mine lightly wrapped in paper towels in ziplocks and change the paper towels every couple days. I've easily gotten 5 or 6 days out of the filets that way and they still are fine. The worst thing is to let water accumulate in the bottom of the bag which will ruin them pretty quick.
