Friday: the brother-in-law went early to set up deer camp and do a little grouse hunting. He went to check on the stands and found a huge oak tree blocking the ATV path to his stand. The oak tree was freshly cut by chainsaw. He cleared the path and continued to check on his permanent. He found that his permanent stand has been cut down: no not just the stand but the 4 large trees which were used to build the stand were cut down. This was in St. Croix State Forest.

There were hunters everywhere. Appearently, one of our group member (ex-group member, now) went out and did some advertising to the mass media about how great our location was. He also brought in his own group now but the advertisement brought in hords of other groups.

Saturday was slow. Sunday, well, let's just say our locations were hit with unethical small game hunters. They must have given up on hunting deer and roamed for squirrels right under our tree stands (literally) while making eye contacts with some of our group.
