Otter Wilderness Perch???

CNY Tim

Recommended Posts

I am getting ready to buy one and I just wanted to see whom has one and how they liked it... Really looking for some one that has purchased it and how it compares to a Fishtrap Pro..

Fish Trap Dimensions are 78" x 43" x 60"H

Wilderness Perch Dimensions are 79" x 54" x 65"H

Weights are virtually the same... Thanks

Well Tim, I haven't used or fished out of "that" particular Otter but if it's as good as the other larger ones I've seen and fished out of I'd buy it. I have the FT Pro and it's great so I'm all set but if I was looking for another portable like that I'd get an Otter just the same. They are very well constructed, probably even more solid than the traps and I think there's no way you can go wrong with it.

Well Tim I have one setup in my spare room that I bought this summer . Good solid unit but you do have to use 4 poles that must be snapped in when setup . I will be rigging mine to seat two people as it is big enough too . Nice long skirts to keep out the wind also . I'm also going to add two eye hooks on the sleigh so I can anchor it in the wind with a rope . Other than that it's all I have really for info as it hasn't been used yet by me .

I have the biggest wilderness series house and it's very big and roomy. I think I have the Walleye one? The canvas is a bit thinner than the "normal" Otters, but still O.K. Mine is just a tad cool to sit in when it's dark outside and cold plus the canvas is a little big,(long in the front) so it sags some, but other than that it's just fine.

I don't know if I would buy another one, but I definetly don't hate it, just would like a little thicker and tighter fitting canvas.
