Tight Budget? Look At Hand Held Sonars

I have an Eagle depth/fish finder on the front of my boat. I know you can get an Ice attachment for it for around 60 bucks. Is this worth getting? I don't have a lot of money to spend, so thought this might be a good option for me.

On a tight budget, do what ya gotta do. I think it'd work but maybe some others would give more accurate info since I'm not familiar with that model. Consider, you'd also have to purchase a 12 volt battery and charger for your setup, too.

To top it off, the LX-i is great on that BWCA trip. Lightweight, stands on end inside the canoe and easily shoots readings straight through the hull. Used one on our trip to Shell Lake last August and it was awesome and easy to use.

While cruising the Dick's in Richfield I noticed they have some Strikemaster Polar-Ice on clearance for $60. Probably not quite as nice as the LX-i, but at half the cost it might get more people on the ice with sonar.

Before I'd spend the $120 on a handheld I would save a we bit more and get the new VX-1, which is only $200 after rebate. Smokin' deal on pretty solid unit!!!
