berfish
Anyone ever tried Golden lake in Circle Pines? My friend and I got 12 channel cats ranging from 1.5lbs to 4.5lbs. The DNR stocked these fish to help the bullhead population from exploding. I urge you to give it a try.

berfish
I got them through the ice over new years weekend. They seemed to hit just about anything from crappie jigs(fatboy with a wax worm) to chunks of sucker minnows to chunks of shiners. This was a one time thing for me but i have only tried it once. My friend went back and got a half dozen more. Make sure you are fishing in 24-25 feet of water to the northwest of the thin ice signs. They hug the bottom on the vexilar so they are hard to graph. The best time of the day is sunset. Go get em.bf
hulk
got any suggestions or info as to where and how, should I break out the canoe, or can I reach them from the fishing dock? thanks, Hulk
smallies24
Hi, I was the buddy beerfish was referring to. I think the key during early winter is just being near the deepest part of the lake, which would a little far to cast to from the pier. But in the summer, I'm not exactly sure. No catfish were even caught during the DNR's last survey of the lake. My guess would be that they spread out quite a bit, and without knowing how many are actually in their, they might just spread out too much to really be able to get into them again.I would think you would be able to find some near the inlet or outlet to the lake. Although, I heard at least one of them had been blocked off. If you fish from the pier, I'd try to cast as close to the aerator as possible. Good luck.
