Who hunted tonight?

Don't know if MN had similar conditions but the deer were out like no tomorrow tonight. They were everywhere, except for within bow range of my stand But I saw so many on the way home it was scary to drive. Interesting to see what the weather does.

If I was up north I would have been out.It always seems that the deer movement is good right before a weather system is moving in.

I guess I will just have to wait 2 more days and then go.

Nobody I talked to was planning on hunting tonight but I knew it'd be good. Saw 6 bucks but only one from my tree. The rest were peacefully eating in a field and I spotted them on my walk out. I've seen multiple bucks hanging out with one another lately...seems odd to me for this time of year.

I should have hunted last night. Instead, I went scouting for an AM duck/goose hunt. Saw more deer than you could shake a stick at last night while driving around. Found a field loaded with geese too, but no dice with the farmer, he has his own hunters... oh well, another time!

I should have hunted Monday morning. I thought about going out before work. I could have had about an hour of light before I had to pack up and go but this is about when 75 percent of deer movement occurs near one of my stands. I decided not to because I had a busy day ahead.

Sure enough, a monster doe got her picture taken half an hour into legal shooting time. As my father in law put it, she knew you weren't there that morning and thought she'd leave a pic for you to remember her by. : )

BTW, I was working from home that day so, I could have went back a few hours after the shot to retrieve her and field dress her.

Woulda coulda shoulda. Or as Dandy Don Meridith once said, if "ifs and buts were candy and nuts we'd all have a Merry Christmas." : )

I went bowhunting last night and was fortunate enough to take a dry doe.

She came through at 6:38 and was walking away from me when I shot. She was at a drastic angle when the arrow entered in front of the left rear quarter and exited out the back of her right front shoulder taking her lungs clean. After the shot she ran about ten yards back the direction she came from and stood looking back at where she was shot. Not being aware of what had happened and her being totally at ease she began to loose her legs, she took a couple of more steps and collapsed.

Silence is golden and she never knew what hit her.
