Running a Lowrance LCX-104 and Vexilar FL-18 off the back?

computerboy

Question

The freezing temps got me thinking about ice fishing today, and the fact that I have a perfectly good FL-18 collecting dust during the summer months. I recently purchased a new open water rig and was wondering if I could mount a high-speed transducer for my FL-18 next to my LCX-104 transducer? My main concern is interference between the two units. Anybody else have the same/similar setup?

Thanks in advance!

You mean should be fine as long as the two units are NOT running the same frequency. I don't know the frequencies but my guess is that they are the same (or close enough, like 200 mhz and 192 mhz) to cause interference.

I get interference on my Lowrance when I run my Vex. The depth jumps all over the place and the screen get cluttered. The Vex seems to work fine in this situation. I even moved the transducers farther apart but still have the interference. Is there a solution?
