Like Valv said its not that hard, depending on the boat of course. I have an older lund/mercury so its really easy!! Any place that deals with boats will be able to help you out. Hear are some things to considered if you decide to give it a try.

I like to repack the bearings on the trailer. Change the lube in the lower unit. Grease all the pivots/zerks. IMO many of us forget about repacking the wheel bearings but if its done in the fall right befor storage than you won't have to worry about them in the spring. Just hook up and your off to the opener!!

I use seafoam motor tune in the gas tanks. Its a great product. It stabalizes the fuel, removes moister, Cleans the fuel system and carburator and decarbonizes the upper end.

I use the seafoam deep creap for "fogging" the motor. Deep Creap is the same product as motor tune except its in an aerosal can. It does everything the motor tune does. With the engine cold simply remove the plugs and spray into the cylinder(s). Reinstall the plugs and your done. I like to rotate the crank and spray each cylinder a couple of times to make sure I get as much surface covered as possible.

Remeber the only reason we winterize the motors is to protect them from the part of the year that produces condensation. Warm days and cold nights! As soon as the temps go below freezing the corrosion process pretty much stops.

Good luck john and welcome to FM!

John - R&R Marine in Shakopee (169&41) does a very nice job. Very friendly people, competitive prices, and they'll have your boat back to you in just a couple of days.

They have a large secure area to hold the boats as well. They have a webpage out there with info.
