Co-Angler help

I am looking for tournaments in Minnesota that have Co-Anglers fishing with Pros (or very experienced amateurs). Even though I have my own boat, I am trying to gain more experience.

Hey John, I have done some Co Angler Tournaments and yes they are a good way to learn new things... The best ones are The Walmart BFL, The Silverado and Minnesota Bassmaster Weekend... I dont know if they are goin to have the Minnesota bassmaster weekend anymore but if they do its a good one.

how does that work. do you just show up the day of the tourney pay your money hop in the boat with an angler and he says good luck??? just wondering? ike

You usually need to pre-register for these tournaments. Some fish combined limits and some do not. The boaters usually are pretty good and help out the co-anglers.

The other option is to join a bass club, some clubs like the one I fish have several guys that fish these money tournaments, its a lot cheaper to fish the club

hey Guys all the tournaments i listed above you will need to Pre Register... All of them have pre tournament meetings and thats when you will learn who you are goin to fish with. U can register online for almost all of them.

As a Co-Angler, which tournament trail would have the most experienced Pros or give me the best chance to learn? I did not know about the Silerado tour (how good our their tournaments)

Classic Bass is showing dates for the Norhtstar Division Bassmasters Weekend Series for 2007. It is a great way to fish as a co-angler. I fished it as a boater but my brother fished it as a co-angler and did well. More importantly he got to fish with 4 different boaters and learned a lot about both tournament fishing and bass fishing in general. He is going to regionals in Indiana later this month. I have not fished the Silverado but have heard it is an excellent run tournament. On a side note all of the non-boaters I drew were alos boat owners and 3 of the 4 belonged to local clubs. The Bassmaster Series is about half the price and you get a chance to move onto a regional and national. If that is of value to you then its probably a better fit, if not Silverado has some really good hooks as well.
