Spent a good part of Sat AM fishing for walleyes. It was decent morning-- hit the water about 7:15, breezy, but pretty warm. We Lindy-rigged and caught a few walleyes. Most were dinks, but scratched out two keepers. (stay w/ me. You're probably thinking that I am in the wrong forum). I went home and hit our lake that afternoon and evening w/ my four yr old. It never felt so good to cast my rattle trap and dt-10's. I didn't slaughter the bass, but caught some here and there. Most were pretty good-sized as well. The greatest part was I felt a good solid strike and good fight all the way to the boat. I know in many circles walleyes are a more glamorous fish in this part of the world. Walleyes have there place, but in my mind bass fishing is more fun and exciting day in and day out. Thank God there is plenty of great bass fishing in Minnesota. Wading a river in the middle of the summer for smallies is top notch, too.
