tearin' lips
Went out this afternoon with a buddy from school. We headed far out of town and away from most fourwheeler trails to hunt for some grouse. The extra miles were well worth it. We kicked up 10 birds and got two(shoulda had four) in a matter of a few hours. It was nice to finally see good numbers of birds, but it was even better to find a spot where you are not seeing someone every fifteen minutes.Take Care Guys and Shoot Stright! ReelTimes
I have found the hunting pressure around Duluth to be the most I have seen in quite some time. It is very difficult to hunt common trails on the weekends. You definitely have to get off the trails or go much further out of town. Best bet is weekdays

Captain B.R.K
ReelTimes, I could of warned you about the numbers of people close to Duluth on the weekends. I was in school up there in the late 90's, when the numbers were high, and as we went north past Island Lake, there were always cars at each good looking path/trail.Have you every tried driving up the northshore- north of Two Harbors and Silver? There are some good trails up that way as well to try too.I'd say there aren't a lot of spruce grouse in that area.
