Reynolds
Would you rather see the Twins settle for the Wild Card, face the Yankees in a five game series, or take on the A's and beat them and then have to face the Yankees in a seven game series? Personally I hope we tie for the division title and then take on the Yanks in a five game series. I like our chances over five games versus seven games. This is all hypothetical mind you. Jarrod32
Catching the Yanks in a short series...with Santana throwing twice...would not be a bad 'consolation' prize for the wild card.On the other hand, if you pass the Tigers for the division title, you have a shot at catching the Yanks and getting home field through the playoffs...I know that the Tigers have the tiebreaker on the Twins for the division title, but what about the tiebreakers with the Yanks for home field? basssmasher*
twins need to have better records than both the kittens and the yankers to have home-field thruout becuz we lost the season series to Detriot 11-8 and the yanks have a better division record than we do

RJ
Yankees have the tie breaker over my Tigers, too. We don't have one dominant pitcher like Santana. I fear the Yankees in five or seven. Like every game we have played this year, if we pitch real good and get some timely hitting, we might be able to beat 'em. (That sounds like our skipper, Jim Leyland)
