Direct Vent Wall Mounted Heater

Does anyone have any suggestions for a good wall mounted heater (direct vent) with a blower? We need to replace the old one in our cabin. The cabin is 2 stories 768 sq feet (384 sq feet per floor). We just recently brought the water tank inside and now need to make sure the heater will handle the winter temperatures so the pipes don't freeze. We thought about a forced air furnace but do not have a good space to put it. All of the pipes are concentrated in one area of the cabin and we will also use a couple of electric floor heaters in those two rooms just in case. Does anyone think we will have a problem with this set-up?

any thoughts would be appreciated.

id look into Empire heaters..they make direct vent models that require no electricity to run...can get a blower on them if you like...they can also be hookd up to a thermostat...another option would be a gas fireplace..basically the same deal, mayb a little nicer to look at.....

Empire is a good brand. A gas fireplace might also be a good choice. Make sure it is at least 85% efficient though.Typically 30,000 BTU will heat 1,0000 sq. ft. Make sure that you get a unit that works on a millivolt system. Stay away from a modulating valve that you set the heat setting at a " comfort level" A millivolt unit will allow you to use an external thermostat and will maintain room temperature better. They also work during a power outage.

I use my gas fireplace to heat my house until the middle of Nov. It works just great with a progamable GE themostat that way I can warm the house in the morning and cut it down when the sun comes up and warms the house. I have mine in the middle level of the house and when it runs it warms the entire house. Also the fan runs until all the heat is out and the temp sensor shuts the fan down automaticaly. If you want it to work durning power outage make sure you get a model with a pilot light not the eletonic ignition, Hope this helps.
