If you are looking for LAND to hunt as in private property- good luck. I've asked many, many land owners in the southern part of that county with NO luck at all. There are a few public WMA's in the area (hastings) and a number in western Scott County. None of them are really good as far as the duck hunting, and any lake/pond will likely be VERY crowded. Your best bet is to get as far from the cities as possible, and get on a lake that is hard to access (canoe access only). Less pressure= more birds. I hunted south of the cities a long ways-on hard to access small lakes, and it is still a zoo. I'm headed up north this weekend to get away from the crowds. Good luck!

If you do ever come up with anything- shoot me an email at [email protected]. I have a 17ft canoe that is great for ponds/small lakes, and am always looking for another hunting partner in the area.

I'd paddle or motor South of St Paul Park on the river, PENTIFUL little fingers off the river by Grey Cloud Island would offer a good set up.I have only hunted this area when every thing else is locked up!
