CUYUNA MINES....any cats?

I'm taking a trip to Ironton to test my luck on the Cuyuna mines lake Saturday. I didn't see anywhere of people catching cats there. Anyone put any time there for cats? I remember fishing at a similar lake in northern california when i was around 16 and caught lots of big cats. They were abandoned mines that flooded over and really big cats started taking over the holes. They even had reports that a diver went down to do some welding for some stuff one year and while welding...the light attracted a cat so big that it scared the living daylights out of him and he swam up with a quickness and never wanted to enter the water again. Then that again was just reports. Any insights will do guys. I'm there for trout, my buddies are there for muskies and bass. But I wanted to give the cats a try if i can.

Well, if there are cat's in there it's been kept quiet, or nobody has tried it.

The big cat story has been told with many variations, just insert X-Bridge here and X-Diver Friend there. It probably started as a true story, but has evolved.

I heard about a guy who was working on a dam and never came up. Days later a barge bumped into something a few miles down river that rattled the boat. The crew looked over the the sida and it turned out to be the carcass of a huge cat that had a diving boot sticking out of it's butt. Before they could retreive it the carcass sank, never to be found.
