Summit has issued a recall on Harnesses that were packaged with their treestands in the latter half of 2005.

Here are the details:

2005 Summit Safety Harness of the type included in accessories packets of treestands purchased after June, 2005. Any treestands purchased before June 20, 2005 are not affected by this recall.

• This recall DOES NOT affect any harness manufactured in 2006.

• This recall DOES NOT affect any harness manufactured with multi-color camouflage webbing.

• This recall DOES NOT affect any harness manufactured in Taiwan.

• This recall DOES NOT include any Seat-O-The-Pants harnesses.

They have set up a HSOforum with specific instructions regarding how to identify the specific harnesses that are being recalled. It is located at w w w (dot)harnessrecall2005(dot) (Contact Us Please)

Admin: hope its ok to post this link, I figured it would be ok since its a safety related issue, thanks!

It sounds like the defect is that the buckles can loosen up to easily. The unfortunate thing is that they need your old harness back before they will send a new one, which will take about 3 - 4 weeks. I guess I woont be sending mine back until after november! frown.gif I will just have to make sure that the buckles dont loosen up in the meanwhile! shocked.gif
