Down to Earth
We have been looking at Lightweight Travel Trailers lately and have been thinking about buying one. My concern is storage in winter as I doubt I'll have inside storage for it. Are there concerns with storing the camper outside during the winter months of Minnesota? What steps can one take to prevent damage during outside storage?Thank you.Andy
Ryan_V
It won't hurt a camper to be stored outside. Look at the seasonal parks, they are outside all year round and don't get moved at all. I firmly believe that summer is much harder on them than winter. they are made to withstand the cold and snow. Just don't put it next to a building where snow might slide off a roof and onto the top of the camper, other than that, I wouldn't think twice about throwing it in the back yard for the winter. IFallsRon
We traded the tent camper for a hybrid this summer. I'll probably make sure that the air conditioner unit is covered. I haven't decided on covering the roof with a tarp. With the tent camper, we always covered it with a tarp. I always uncovered it in the spring after the threat of snow was gone so that we weren't getting condensation underneath the tarp. Can't say that we ever had any problems.
